Hello Lakestar boosters,

It's been a busy month of March for me having family and friends come out to visit.
They were able to come to the games and had a great time cheering on the Lakestars.

The weather is finally getting warmer in Shiga and we only have 5 weeks left.
Being from Seattle I love the water and enjoy going out when I can.
I'm looking forward to trying to rent a boat to go on the lake when the sun is shining.
Hope you see you on the water!

We only have 10 games left... lets try to make a push for the playoffs!

今月は、家族や友人が日本まで遊びに来てくれて、忙しくしてましたよ。
試合も観戦できて、みんなと同じように熱い声援を送ってくれました。

滋賀もようやく暖かくなってきて、シーズンも残り５週間。
シアトルの海が恋しくて、琵琶湖の近くまで散歩に行ったりもしています。
天気が良い日に、ボートでも借りてみたいですね。
琵琶湖でみんなに会えるのを楽しみにしています！

もう、残り１０試合です。
プレイオフ進出に向けてもうひとがんばりしましょう！

Hello Lakestars Boosters,

I have to say we have been very busy with basketball and it doesn't leave us much time to relax or do many things away from the gym.
Although we lost 2 games to Oita I enjoyed going to that part of Japan and seeing a change of scenery.
I think it's very interesting to find out that the entire area of Oita is filled with natural hot springs!
Maybe after the season I will have to go back to try the natural hot springs, I'm sure my body will need the rest and relaxation.

I am looking forward to when the cherry blossom trees bloom here and I can get some good photos and enjoy the beautiful scenery that Japan offers.
Since the cherry blossom tree only blooms for about a week and then it's gone, I find it very fitting to the Japanese heritage/culture.
Something very beautiful and delicate, yet is only around for a short period of time to enjoy until the next spring.
I hope the warm weather comes soon as it gets cold on my bicycle!
We also have to come out where we should be till it gets warm.

Hello Lakestars Boosters,

僕たちは毎日バスケットボールのことで忙しくしています。
なかなかリラックスしたり、他のことをする余裕がありません、
でも、大分では２連敗してしまいましたが、滋賀とは違う風景を見るのは楽しかったですよ。
大分のそこかしこに湧いている温泉は本当に興味深かったです。
シーズン終了後にはもう一度大分に行って温泉に入ってみたいですね。

また、桜が咲くのを今から楽しみにしています。
日本の美しい風景を写真に撮ってみたいと思っています。
花が咲いてから１週間で枯れるというのは、日本の文化と似ている気がします。
美しくて繊細ではあるけれど、わずかの間しか楽しめないんですね。
自転車で厳しい寒さを感じるたびに、早く暖かくなってほしいと思っています。
もちろん僕たちも春までには然るべき順位にいなければいけません。

Hi Lakes boosters,

It's been a few weeks since my last blog, but I've been busy from visiting Biwako Valley and Kiyomizudera Temple. It was great to see these beautiful places and to see the great tradition Japan has to offer. I learned that when the temple was built they did not use any nails! I was amazed to see it and enjoyed the great architecture there... And yes I did drink from the pure water that flows out of the temple. So fresh and cold.

We are on the road now to Sendai and have a long buss each way :(. Hopefully we can come home with two wins and be on a hot streak to play at home. Thanks for all your support at our last home game. Hope to see you soon.

前回からしばらく経ちましたが、琵琶湖バレイや清水寺への観光で忙しくしていました。
美しい風景を見たり、日本の伝統に触れることは本当に素晴らしいですね。
お寺を建てる時に全く釘を使わなかったということを初めて知りました！
歴史的建造物を見て回るのは驚きの連続でしたし、とても楽しかったです。
あと、もちろんお寺の外に流れてる自然の水も飲みましたよ。
新鮮でとても冷たかったです。

レイクスは今晩から仙台へ向けてのバス移動になります。
是非２勝して、ホームゲームへ向けての良い連勝になればと思います。
前回のホームゲームでの声援ありがとうございました。

Hi Fans! This is Ryan Rourke signing in, or as you may know me, Raian Roku.

I want to thank you all for supporting us this past weekend in Yasu. It was a great crowd and you all helped us get a win against the number 1 team right now, Okinawa. As you can see with each game we play our team is growing stronger. This past weekend against Okinawa you saw players like Hiro and Mike make huge plays for our team throughout the game. We are working hard this week to prepare for the eastern conference teams coming up.

I also just learned I received the bj-league mvp for this past week. I am humbled and honored to represent the Lakestars with this award as we were able to defeat the undefeated team. I hope that our team continues to play strong and to play without any doubt of reaching our potential of being in the playoffs this season!

I enjoy writing these updates to you all and hearing back from you so please don't hesitate to write! Thank you to all the booster and fan support for our games. I look forward to seeing you all soon....

まずは、野洲での熱い声援ありがとうございました。
あの大観衆の大歓声が力になり、現在１位の沖縄を倒すことができました。
見てのとおり、レイクスは試合を重ねるごとに強くなっています。
沖縄戦でも、控え選手のヒロやマイクが非常に重要な働きをしました。
今週もしっかり練習をし、イースタンカンファレンスとの対戦に備えます。

実は、今日の練習前にｂｊリーグの週間MVP受賞を知らされました。
無敗のチームを倒したレイクスを代表してこの賞を受賞でき、本当に光栄ですし身に余る思いです。
今週末からも、レイクスの強さを示し、プレイオフ進出に相応しいチームであることを証明したいと思います。

いつもこうしてブログを更新し、みんなからのメッセージを読むのを楽しみにしています。

Hello to readers of my first blog!
I have been in Japan for just under two months and I am glad to be here.
I've enjoyed trying to learn more about the culture and the everyday life that people have here by taking a train to somewhere I haven't been yet on our days off from practice, games, or events.

We had our first game and I think I am safe to say that we have many things to work on, but can walk away from our opening weekend with a sense of pride.
Since this is the club's first season, continuous effort to improve and time are needed to have a successful season.
I'm excited for this challenge as we start our regular season and I have high expectations for our organization to win.

I am enjoying the changing colors of the leaves on the trees as we enter fall and I look forward to all of the seasons here in Shiga.

みなさんこんにちは。初めてのブログです。
日本に来てちょうど２ヶ月、滋賀での生活を楽しんでいます。
練習や試合、イベントがない休日には電車で色んなところに行き、滋賀の皆さんのライフスタイルや
文化を吸収しようとしています。

先週末の開幕戦の結果を受け、今後チームとして多くのことに取り組まなければならないことは間違いありませんが、決して結果を恥じることなく、誇りを胸に次の試合に臨めると思います。
レイクスにとって初めてのシーズンですから、今シーズンの成功には継続的な努力と時間が必要です。
シーズンが始まり、これからの挑戦が本当に楽しみですし、何よりもレイクスなら勝てると確信しています。

秋になり、この滋賀で始まったばかりのシーズンを、紅葉し始めた町並みとともに満喫したいと思います。
